Shannon amplifies the voices of the world’s forbidden and forgotten: indigenous peoples, addicts, gang members, survivors of abuse and human trafficking, people with disabilities, and other marginalized members of society.

She is especially active in Honduras, where for the past 14 years she’s worked fearlessly and independently to protect its heritage and people. In March 2015, she became the UN World Tourism Organization Liaison for Honduras. In May of the same year, Honduras proclaimed her its official Goodwill Ambassador.
